Overview

Looking to rent a bike in Asahikawa? Come visit Cycle Shop Fuji (Fuji Shoukai) — a family bicycle shop in the heart of the city, trading since 1933. Seven electric-assist bikes and eight standard bikes are available through the bLink app. Download and register the app beforehand for a smooth rental. One account can rent multiple bikes at the same time. If you need personal assistance, call bLink customer service (Takahashi, 090-8460-0209 — English OK). When registering, allow Bluetooth (Nearby devices) and Location permissions.

Rides shorter than 4 minutes are free — if you rent a bike by mistake, end the ride in the app with no charge. Planning a full day? Keep your ride active and do not press "End Ride" until you are finished; ending and starting a new ride resets the pricing.

Access

Cycle Shop Fuji is at 5-jō-dōri 8-chōme, Asahikawa — about an 11-minute walk from JR Asahikawa Station, or a 2-minute walk from the 5-jō Midoribashi bus stop. From Sapporo, take the JR Lilac or Kamui limited express (about 1 hour 20 minutes). Asahikawa Airport is roughly 20 minutes by bus from the city center. The shop sits on Asahikawa's main shopping street, making it an easy base for exploring the city and heading out toward Furano, Biei, or Sōunkyō.

Tips

• Electric bikes are the better choice for Biei and Furano — the rolling hills are scenic but tiring on a standard bicycle
• For an all-day rental, leave your ride active in the app — do not tap "End Ride" until you are truly done
• Summer is peak cycling season (late April through October); winter visitors can still explore the city on e-bikes via bLink
• Asahikawa is known for soy-sauce ramen — a hearty reward after a long ride through Hokkaido's open countryside
• Register the bLink app and enable Bluetooth and Location permissions before you arrive at the shop
